Question Type - These are the different types of questions that are available. With the exception of HTML Formatted Text, Heading and File Upload, the other question types include standard formats, such as radio buttons, dropdown lists and free text fields.

Available Answers - Custom values are those which are entered into the system by the EasyCruit user in relation to the question asked, and ensure the applicant can only provide specific predetermined answers. System values cannot be customized on a per question basis, but are taken from the system and include values such as countries and dates. Free text enables the applicant to enter any information they want in response to the question asked. Upload provides the ability to upload a document to the system. None applies to two questions because they are used to add additional formatting to a questions page only and do not actually include a question.

Selections - Depending on the question type, answers can be made up of single or multiple selections.

Screening - These question types can be used to help screen applicants during the application process. When enabled, point values can be applied to the answers for the questions and if the applicant does not receive enough points from their answers, they can be screened out of the application process.

Adding Radio Button Questions

This type of question enables the user to only select one answer from a list of choices.

  1. From the Type list select Radiobuttons.
  2. For the Screening Questions option, select None, Points or Mandatory.

Selecting Points enables a numerical point value to be applied to each answer and the cumulative value of any answers can be saved against the applicant's application. Selecting Mandatory means the question must be answered by the applicant when used as a screening question.

  1. Enter the text that serves as the question for each language.
  2. Click Add Alternative Option to display the Add Alternative Answer page.
  3. Enter the required value for each language then click Add.

If Points was selected in step 2, then enter a numeric value in the Points field. If Mandatory was selected, then select True or False to set the screening criterion for the question (True = the applicant will pass; False = the applicant will be screened out).

  1. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for each answer then click Add when complete.

Adding Checkbox Questions

This type of question enables the user to select multiple options from a list of choices.

  1. From the Type list select Checkboxes.
  2. Enter the text that serves as the question for each language.
  3. Click Add Alternative Option to display the Add Alternative Answer page.
  4. Enter the required value for each language then click Add.
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for each answer then click Add when complete.

Adding Dropdown Single Questions

Dropdown single questions enable the user to select one value from the list of available answers. The answers can also be given point values which are used for screening applicants.

  1. From the Type list select Dropdown single.
  2. For the Screening Questions option, select None, Points or Mandatory.

Selecting Points enables a numerical point value to be applied to each answer and the cumulative value of any answers can be saved against the applicant's application. Selecting Mandatory makes it possible for the question to have to be answered by an applicant when used as a screening question.

  1. Enter the text that serves as the question for each language.
  2. Click Add Alternative Option to display the Add Alternative Answer page.
  3. Enter the required value for each language then click Add.

If Points was selected in step 2, enter a numeric value in the Points field. If Mandatory was selected, then select True or False to set the screening criterion for the question (True = the applicant will pass; False = the applicant will be screened out).

  1. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for each answer then click Add on the Add Question page when complete.

Adding Dropdown Multiple Questions

Dropdown multiple questions enable multiple values to be selected from a list.

  1. From the Type list, select Dropdown multiple.
  2. Enter the text that serves as the question for each language.
  3. Click Add Alternative Option to display the Add Alternative Answer page.
  4. Enter the required value for each language then click Add.
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for each answer then click Add on the Add Question page when complete.

  2. Enter the required content in the WYSIWYG editor for each language.
  3. Click Add and the question can then be saved.

Adding Text Questions

These question types provides a simple text field/box for entering non-formatted text and can be used when the WYSIWYG editor is not required.

  1. From the Type list, select Text Area/Text Box.
  2. Enter the required text for each language.
  3. Click Add and the question can then be saved.

Adding Country and Country Dropdown Multiple Questions

The country question types enable the applicant to select one or more countries from a list, dependent on which of the two types is used.

  1. From the Type list, select Country/Country dropdown multiple.
  2. Enter the required text for each language.
  3. Click Add and the question can then be saved.

Adding Date Questions

This question type enables a date to be entered as an answer, from a date picker. This is useful for asking applicants for potential start dates.

  1. From the Type list, select Date.
  2. Enter the required text for each language.
  3. Click Add and the question can then be saved.

  1. From the Type list, select Heading.
  2. Enter the required text for each language.
  3. Click Add and the question can then be saved.

Adding File Upload Questions

The file upload question type is useful for enabling applicants to upload reference letters, CVs, work examples and other relevant documents.

  1. From the Type list, select File Upload.
  2. Enter the required text for each language.
  3. Click Add and the question can then be saved.
